IVIG provided Technical-Scientific Advisory services to the Ports Secretariat (SEP) of the Federal Government, for the development of studies and academic research with a view to developing engineering projects and dredging services in 14 Brazilian ports. The work included actions for the restructuring and revitalization of the National Institute for Waterway Research – INPH. Worked at all stages of the bidding process for a dredging project: pre-bidding, bidding, dredging and supervision and management of the work.

Analysis of issues related to the environment: relevant actions, siltation qualification, information storage and statistics;

Creation of the Dredging Works Information and Research System – SIPOD;

Development of a system for cost composition of dredging works;

Development of Preliminary Project/Basic Project for Dredging Works;

Preparation of Technical Notes;

Modeling of Sedimentological Processes (quantification of siltation rates);

Preparation of reports, opinions, analysis of basic and executive projects, monitoring of works and dredging services in public ports;

Technical-scientific support during inspection support, hydrographic surveys and analysis of Inspection Reports for the dredging work;

Preparation of courses for training and qualification of employees;

Production of technical-scientific works: articles, doctoral and master's degree guidance, scientific initiation completion work.
