Port Waste Program
IVIG developed the Solid Waste and Effluent Management Compliance Program in 22 Brazilian seaports, through the development of environmental, economic, social and technological studies to prepare a diagnosis/inventory of solid waste, liquid effluents and harmful synanthropic fauna. The project was carried out in partnership with the Federal Government's Port Secretariat (SEP).
Performed activities
Survey and classification of solid waste and liquid effluents;
Characterization of measures, equipment, facilities and procedures for control and management;
Characterization of the appropriate final destination of waste and effluents;
Definition of physical and logistical structure for the operation of waste and effluent treatment units;
Specification of control and monitoring procedures for public health and environmental quality parameters;
Specification of a personnel training program for all stages of management;
Preparation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) in conceptual and basic projects;
Preparation of an Integrated Plan for the Management of Solid Waste, Liquid Effluents and Harmful Synanthropic Fauna;
Preparation of the Good Port Practices Guide and 22 Good Port Practices Manuals.
